Colorway is Unlimited Possibilities. The colors are so vibrant and just calls out or should I say shout? What do I make out of this? It is far too beautiful for socks. I'm undecided. Here's a picture of the yarn in question.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimn_Hvout_EOhhv-KSRBjyz4f5JQVBov3aTPEjG0E4pm8S-0iR-eo3QwD7pcH-f6nM1a6HjC9k4kaVto6OpqxBJDPbqa9tEORN6EzTNYYbbqosxHM2Ysa5ZvHuKrlQzjWgSy3ZQnukgRI/s1600/28015Large_6fd5.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5618548806220734354" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 288px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimn_Hvout_EOhhv-KSRBjyz4f5JQVBov3aTPEjG0E4pm8S-0iR-eo3QwD7pcH-f6nM1a6HjC9k4kaVto6OpqxBJDPbqa9tEORN6EzTNYYbbqosxHM2Ysa5ZvHuKrlQzjWgSy3ZQnukgRI/s320/28015Large_6fd5.jpg" border="0" /></a> Available from Jimmy Beans Wool. Now that spring is here, I hope to keep this up more frequently. But I did manage to complete a few projects in the last few months. Here is one of my favourites. The Lacy-Leaves Tunic designed by Lorna Miser. It was published in the September issue of Creative Knitting.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVLCDAf3nV9is_Rc10f1mDIla7by00T6Gh7Rgyz41a1ua1vMmXMfJbyMfEmWPgdA8tS3vK71xBI8m4hs5TbpD0MWhPU4MlN91O-CKVKVtxEQYPjuSyuyGMk8WK0hS9eeQXyH0lBgz8_wg/s1600/DSCN3024.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 239px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5606377738213313730" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVLCDAf3nV9is_Rc10f1mDIla7by00T6Gh7Rgyz41a1ua1vMmXMfJbyMfEmWPgdA8tS3vK71xBI8m4hs5TbpD0MWhPU4MlN91O-CKVKVtxEQYPjuSyuyGMk8WK0hS9eeQXyH0lBgz8_wg/s320/DSCN3024.JPG" /></a>Knit-Chathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00825441558370992361noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1628432546741232452.post-7248171736870290992010-11-20T11:05:00.003-06:002010-11-20T11:16:13.937-06:00Vest for HubbyHere's a picture of my serenity sock. Finished the back, front and a sleeve. The second sleeve is about 1/4 done. And my first attempt at block the parts has worked out so far. I'm so excited about this project. </div><br /><div>A simultaneous project I'm working on is a pair of socks. The yarn is called Serenity from Deborah Norville Colletion from Premier Yarns. It is 50% superwash merino wool, 25% bamboo and 25% nylon. I'm just doing a simple ribbed sock. Almost got to the part of turning the heel on the first sock.<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5540197129743253138" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 239px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguhnX3wpoE8LzLdedFU4VrtKApjWNuqkZIeVGccLh-378UhIPI5G4_6D0NpKiR0RersWTGoyMq33ZbFWxqV-HEp_5TUrdq4tCTarPy2nP2HpTLCeEEouB9IWVEsSrAsy_WVTWdeBOuPGo/s320/DSCN2935.JPG" border="0" /></div><p></p><p></p><div>My next project is going to be knitting a vest for my dear hubby. Everything hurts, all those muscles that I didn't even know that I had. :-( :-( So much for being fit. <br />On the brighter side, the back of the sweater was completed last night. Even with those aching muscles crying for relief, I still wanted to complete the last two rows and bind off. Just so that I know that progress can be measured. <br />On Saturday, another day trip to Milwaukee. Visited a yarn shop in Glendale, called "Ruhama's Yarn and Needle". The visit was far too brief, I needed another couple of hours of fiber therapy, but in spite of having decided that I wouldn't buy anything until this project is complete, I gave in to temptation and bought six skeins of yarn. Consolation : it would make a wonderful scarf and may be a pair of fingerless gloves. :-) :-)Knit-Chathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00825441558370992361noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1628432546741232452.post-66682517248112525042010-10-21T11:12:00.002-06:002010-10-21T11:16:58.338-06:00Work in Progress - I<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbGp5RT0yAHsUbMHisDkJJ91PABRfliCNDQ8weBGdBA_l6qBjYXDPn1d1KiN9_bQg2LPgBB975rYlhC7hZvysPLG4sLVbJ4uXLd_kDCv0iH7YWO2hj4wvRsOhzVEWiUK2tZqTNcgiXZ60/s1600/DSCN2943.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530548549033677906" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 239px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbGp5RT0yAHsUbMHisDkJJ91PABRfliCNDQ8weBGdBA_l6qBjYXDPn1d1KiN9_bQg2LPgBB975rYlhC7hZvysPLG4sLVbJ4uXLd_kDCv0iH7YWO2hj4wvRsOhzVEWiUK2tZqTNcgiXZ60/s320/DSCN2943.JPG" border="0" /></a> Ok, this is work in progess as it stood last weekend. When I read through the pattern for the first time, it seemed so complicated and difficult. But when I actually cast on and began working on it, it's very easy. I can't wait to complete and wear it. :-) :-)<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdUkaeC4WBYg-plPXI7pmysc2wZ4coNakl54mDp6LvgeShualdpK1c2KQQO0yt5IyhDczUgfRiLqT10iC_TAFCv1zT6vcWTrza2mBKk2kRz64oC8pvSF_ZgUgAKNTE7LoRGI-s92UVsLY/s1600/DSCN2941.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5527919604109139522" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 239px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdUkaeC4WBYg-plPXI7pmysc2wZ4coNakl54mDp6LvgeShualdpK1c2KQQO0yt5IyhDczUgfRiLqT10iC_TAFCv1zT6vcWTrza2mBKk2kRz64oC8pvSF_ZgUgAKNTE7LoRGI-s92UVsLY/s320/DSCN2941.JPG" border="0" /></a> This is the picture of next project that I want to do and it is called Lacy -Leaves Tunic. We had a wonderful time with family and also visiting Mount Washington, a day trip to Boston, meeting cousins..... On the way back we decided to swing by New York City and do the touristy thing. It was a good visit, but of course, I felt like a hillbilly in the Big Apple. <br />As usual, I spent quite sometime knitting in the car and finished my afghan. Since I knew I would be able to complete the afghan, I had taken a baby hoodie pattern and yarn to begin a new project. But, me being me, messed up the beginning, something went wrong and I just couldn't knit in the round. Since I felt the beginning of the withdrawal symptoms, I decided to just do a basketweave blanket with the yarn I had and forget about the hoodie for the time being. Which was completed yesterday. Yaay...me....<br />Oh, I've got to post the pictures yet. Have to upload from camera... Maybe, tomorrow.Knit-Chathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00825441558370992361noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1628432546741232452.post-82527509682697433282010-08-10T08:16:00.005-06:002010-08-10T22:28:11.446-06:00About a month ago, I came across a book called "Gorgeous Knitted Afghans" at the local libray. A ribbed pattern seemed perfect for the yarn I had bought at the Knitting Knook at Milwaukee. Here's a look at the work accomplished so far.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNy4BmPKHd21qQcblyVdjOZVBRPIaLweufyXG3OZtZG00snfvJB1-_gKXNH_qZthKxzu_zk71-R1f8rvRgzF1C7ICwhcotbIEA6s-SCoZTlfPbm893sZ2g9V-e3lfpch2WTOUguZvV5B4/s1600/DSCN2882.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 239px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5503789593760758882" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNy4BmPKHd21qQcblyVdjOZVBRPIaLweufyXG3OZtZG00snfvJB1-_gKXNH_qZthKxzu_zk71-R1f8rvRgzF1C7ICwhcotbIEA6s-SCoZTlfPbm893sZ2g9V-e3lfpch2WTOUguZvV5B4/s320/DSCN2882.JPG" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitWCzrKY-b1DawY8V7UvcddJhDreTaIvix7R4nLdBkkleIQwWI69gGqs-GPpqUF9A-CyZ0BVa5ipuz5Zd_5wgxkKkTcagmEJbg-kCr6CyRnlgL1s4peJIwFi8zGEXb_zRnjUC1EGQK1eM/s1600/DSCN2881.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 239px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5503789585972563058" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitWCzrKY-b1DawY8V7UvcddJhDreTaIvix7R4nLdBkkleIQwWI69gGqs-GPpqUF9A-CyZ0BVa5ipuz5Zd_5wgxkKkTcagmEJbg-kCr6CyRnlgL1s4peJIwFi8zGEXb_zRnjUC1EGQK1eM/s320/DSCN2881.JPG" /></a> Here's the rest of the yarn which still has to be used. They arrived a couple of days ago and I just can't wait to try them all. The colours are gorgeous.Knit-Chathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00825441558370992361noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1628432546741232452.post-78735401984585556542010-06-04T15:15:00.003-06:002010-06-04T15:28:13.195-06:00On Memorial Day weekend, on a day trip to Milwaukee, I managed to make a little progress on a baby blanket I'm knitting with leftover yarn from my old projects. Another discovery was a yarn shop called Knitting Knook, off I-43 on the way to Milwaukee. The shop has a great selection of yarns, buttons and great books. As my luck would have it, they were having a 40% off sale. And I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to add to my yarn stash.<br /><br />Come to think of it, I really don't have much of a yarn stash. Over the last four years, I have managed to make a bunch of different projects from all the yarn stash that Mary had given me. Some of the yarn I had bought, the synthetic mix ones from Walmart had been made into scarves which went to the Church. All I have left is the yarn left over from the last two or three projects and the new purchases I've made in the last three months. Hurray for accomplishment.Knit-Chathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00825441558370992361noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1628432546741232452.post-29637297850848987812010-05-28T07:58:00.002-06:002010-05-28T08:02:22.266-06:00Current Project<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-uXlW0-u0bFHNG1d88xpzSQkWLouYXGelONcy_fXUpFJUVBa_rRNbumd9Ygnq6cbmavjz3fjQMOAm_52UrgsywzpfgdymrWfnlqDnChQ0ud7gMV1djwlfD7sbDVwU69U1w2Pa8NsGlqI/s1600/DSCN2851.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5476320854827105570" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 239px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-uXlW0-u0bFHNG1d88xpzSQkWLouYXGelONcy_fXUpFJUVBa_rRNbumd9Ygnq6cbmavjz3fjQMOAm_52UrgsywzpfgdymrWfnlqDnChQ0ud7gMV1djwlfD7sbDVwU69U1w2Pa8NsGlqI/s320/DSCN2851.JPG" border="0" /></a> One of my current projects is a cabled scarf.
