New Yarn

I am in possession of a hank of yarn from Lorna's Laces Limited Edition for June 2011. Colorway is Unlimited Possibilities. The colors are so vibrant and just calls out or should I say shout? What do I make out of this? It is far too beautiful for socks. I'm undecided. Here's a picture of the yarn in question.

Lacy Farinelli Gloves

Another finished object from last year. Fingerless Farinelli Gloves by Ysolda Teague. Appeared in the Twist Collective Winter 2009 edition. This was a challenging project for me. I think this was my first attempt at a real lacy pattern.
And of course, I absolutely adore wearing them.

Monkey Socks

Monkey socks by Cookie A. Made with Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock Multi, 80% Wool, 20% Nylon. Limited Edition for April 2011 to commemmorate the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton.

Colourful Socks

This is one of the latest finished objects. A pair of socks, made in the eyelet pattern. Taiyo yarn from Noro, a blend of wool, cotton, silk and nylon. The colours are exquisite.

Yep, sock knitting is definitely addictive!

Awake....

My blogging mind went on a long hibernation coinciding with the Wisconsin winter. Now that spring is here, I hope to keep this up more frequently. But I did manage to complete a few projects in the last few months. Here is one of my favourites. The Lacy-Leaves Tunic designed by Lorna Miser. It was published in the September issue of Creative Knitting.

Vest for Hubby

Here's a picture of my serenity sock. The first sock is about 60% done and hopefully the pair will get completed by Christmas and maybe will be a nice gift for someone!

Last week I had picked up the yarn for the vest I wanted to make for dear hubby and did some work on it last weekend. It is being made with Comfort from Berroco Yarns. 50% Super Fine Nylon and 50% Super Fine Acrylic with size 8 and 9 Needles. 210 yards per skein. It is a super simple pattern from Carol Sulcoski which was on knitty.com. Here's the link to the pattern :

Almost Complete

Woohoo, my sweater is almost done. Finished the back, front and a sleeve. The second sleeve is about 1/4 done. And my first attempt at block the parts has worked out so far. I'm so excited about this project.

A simultaneous project I'm working on is a pair of socks. The yarn is called Serenity from Deborah Norville Colletion from Premier Yarns. It is 50% superwash merino wool, 25% bamboo and 25% nylon. I'm just doing a simple ribbed sock. Almost got to the part of turning the heel on the first sock.

My next project is going to be knitting a vest for my dear hubby. Just bought the material from Monterey Yarn last week where Julie was so helpful in finding just the right type that I needed. It's going to be a combination of black and white.
